Program Overview
The MASTP is an off season training program consisting of an off-ice training component and an on-ice training component. Program is open to both boys and girls between the designated ages. Birth date ranges can be found on the registration page.
Off-ice during the month of June:
We ask all participants to attend 3 scheduled off-ice sessions a week. For example: Thurs.,Sat. and Sun. with optional workouts Mon.,Tues. and Weds. Optional sessions are used for make-up or extra sessions.
Note: These day's of the week could change.
Other sports:
Baseball, lacrosse, golf etc can take precedence. Family and school also can take precedence. Players who miss for these reasons should notify the director and schedule make up sessions.
On-ice in July:
Three times a week which includes pre and post off-ice workouts as well as video review sessions.
Staff:
Prep school, High School and College coaches.
At the 12 under and 13 under level we will take two groups of 35 players or so per group not including goalies.
Additionally, we pick a team out of the 13 under players to play in a friendship series at Kent State in Ohio. These games will take place the beginning of August.
The MASTP program is subsidized, therefore tuition is far below that of any private program. On ice sessions in private ventures often have no limits on the number of participants. MASTP limits the number of skaters to ensure proper work rest ratio.
The mission of MASTP is to train players directly and the give them the necessary guidance and information that will assist them in their individual pursuit of maximizing their potential.
Anyone who chooses to play in hockey leagues, exposure tournaments etc during the MASTP training schedule precludes their ability to be a participant.
When the subsidy is accepted - one assumes the responsibilities inherent.
